Miller Run Natural Area is a 4,992-acre protected tract within Pennsylvania’s Tiadaghton State Forest and the state’s second-largest designated Natural Area. It safeguards the watersheds of four streams flowing to Pine Creek, including Miller Run, the longest, which the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has designated a High-Quality Stream. The area is also known for regionally uncommon plants such as poisonous white baneberry. Alongside these natural resources, the landscape retains ruins of logging railroads and camps that reflect the region’s logging past. Limited access by rough hiking trails from a nearby gravel road contributes to its remote character.
