Abbott Butte
Nature
Abbott Butte is a mountain summit in Oregon with an elevation of 6,135 feet. Although classified as a butte, a term often used for an isolated or prominent height, it is also recognized as one of Oregon's named summits. The butte received its name in 1853 in honor of Hiram Abbott. Little more is recorded here about its history, but its name, form, and elevation place it among the state's notable geographic features.
