Camas Potholes is a protected area in Camas, Washington, along Lacamas Creek and accessible by trail from Lacamas Park. Known as a popular summer swimming hole and a favorite photography subject, it features a series of unusual rock potholes carved by water flow created from drainage released at the outlet dam of Lacamas Lake. These openings measure roughly 3 to 10 feet across and 3 to 13 feet deep. The site is recognized as one of Lacamas Park’s notable features, but it also has a dangerous history, with high jumps causing severe head injuries and falls and drowning resulting in several deaths.
