Mount Craig is a prominent 12,007-foot peak in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains within Rocky Mountain National Park in northern Colorado. Rising steeply above East Inlet near Grand Lake, it has strong local relief and drains into the Grand Lake basin on the park’s western side. The mountain was named for Reverend William Bayard Craig, who also gave his name to the town of Craig, Colorado, and who owned lakeshore property at Grand Lake in the 1880s. Its name was officially adopted in 1932 by the United States Board on Geographic Names. At this elevation, Mount Craig has an alpine subarctic climate with snowy winters, summer thunderstorms, and a drier late spring.
