Jackson Peak is a 13,523-foot summit in Wyoming’s Wind River Range in Fremont County, standing on the Continental Divide as the state’s eighth-highest mountain and the range’s seventh-highest. Near Fremont Peak and bordered by the Bull Lake Glacier to the north and east, it rises within the high, glaciated core of the Winds, where rugged granite and permanent ice shape the landscape. Its position on the divide makes it one of the prominent summits defining the crest. Like much of the range, the area is remote and hazardous, with risks including bears, insects, wildfire, difficult snow conditions, cold nights, and fatal falls or rockfall in steeper terrain.
