Lily Bay State Park in Greenville, Maine, occupies 924 acres of woodland and shoreline on the southeast shore of Moosehead Lake, the largest lake in New England. Established in 1961 on land donated primarily by the Scott Paper Company in 1959, it transformed a forested lakeshore into a state-managed destination while preserving public access to the lake. The park is known for outdoor recreation centered on both water and woods, including camping, boating, fishing, swimming, and snowmobiling, as well as a two-mile shoreline trail used for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. In 2024, it was also one of five Maine state parks in the path of totality for the solar eclipse.
