Thompson Covered Bridge was originally constructed in 1832 by Zadoc Taft, then reconstructed in 1993 and dedicated on August 14, 1993 through the cooperation of the citizens of Swanzey, Selectmen Kenneth P. Colby, Jr., Bonnie J. Tolman, and Francis W. Faulkner, Jr., Wright Construction of Mt. Holly, VT, Dion Engineering of Marlborough, N.H., and Dion and Stevens Engineering of Brattleboro, VT.
