Wedge Mountain is a 5,860-foot summit in Washington’s central Cascades near Leavenworth, marking the northeastern end of the Stuart Range on the edge of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Though modest by Cascade standards, it rises sharply above Snow Creek, making it a prominent landmark for hikers on the Snow Creek Trail approaching The Enchantments. The official name applies to this summit, though climbers have also used it for nearby Peak 6885, or South Wedge Mountain, whose east face gained established routes in 1983 and 1984. The mountain and its surrounding ridges, granite walls, and valleys were shaped by uplift, faulting, and repeated Pleistocene glaciation.
