Ruby Mountains Wilderness
Nature
Ruby Mountains Wilderness is a protected high-elevation area in northeastern Nevada, covering about 90,000 acres within one of the state’s most prominent mountain ranges. Administered by the Humboldt–Toiyabe National Forest, it preserves rugged alpine terrain generally between 9,000 and 10,000 feet in elevation. Destinations such as Seitz Canyon and the Lamoille Lake Trail lead into this mountain landscape. The wilderness remains significant as a large tract of public land valued for backcountry recreation and for preserving mountain habitat in Nevada.
