Nature
J Glacier lies in the Wind River Range of western Wyoming on the west side of the Continental Divide, within Bridger-Teton National Forest and the Bridger Wilderness. It is part of a mountain region that contains the largest concentration of glaciers in the American Rocky Mountains. The glacier flows down from the northwest slope of Klondike Peak. At its lower end, melting ice has created a proglacial lake at the toe, marking the glacier’s current edge and reflecting the continuing movement of ice and water in this high alpine setting.
