Brown Cliffs North is a 13,204-foot summit in Wyoming’s northern Wind River Range, within the Fitzpatrick Wilderness of Shoshone National Forest. At the northwestern end and highest point of the Brown Cliffs ridge, it is the state’s 18th tallest peak. The mountain stands in one of Wyoming’s best-known alpine landscapes, marked by long ridges, steep cliffs, and harsh high-country conditions. The area is remote and difficult, with dangers that can include bears, insects, wildfire, snow, and intense nighttime cold. Steep class 4 and 5 terrain around cliffs and rock faces, along with a history of fatal falls and rockfall in the range, underscores the seriousness of travel here.
