Kingfisher Tower is a prominent sandstone-and-mudstone spire in the Fisher Towers area of eastern Utah, northeast of Moab. The second-highest summit in the cluster, it is noted for an exceptionally steep profile, rising nearly 600 feet above its base and more than 2,000 feet above the nearby campground in less than half a mile, making it the 14th-steepest peak in the United States. Geologically, it stands on a fin with Permian Cutler Formation below and Early Triassic Moenkopi Formation above, separated by an unconformity. First climbed in 1962, it later gained additional routes and remains valued for both its geology and climbing reputation.
