East Torrey Glacier
Nature
East Torrey Glacier is in Wyoming’s northern Wind River Range, on the east side of the Continental Divide within Shoshone National Forest and the Fitzpatrick Wilderness. Located immediately east of Continental Glacier and north of Downs Mountain, it belongs to the largest concentration of glaciers in the American Rocky Mountains. The glacier has three distinct lobes, and its recent history reflects clear retreat, with the ice receding well above the two proglacial lakes below it.
