Cave Knoll is a 6,486-foot mountain in Cave Valley within Zion National Park in southwestern Utah, about 11.5 miles northwest of Springdale and accessible from Kolob Terrace Road. Its summit is formed of Navajo Sandstone, a rock unit that helps create Zion’s pale cliffs and domes. Nearby landmarks include Pine Valley Peak, Tabernacle Dome, and North Guardian Angel, and runoff from the mountain flows into tributaries of the Virgin River. The name was officially adopted in 1934 by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names. The surrounding area has a cold semi-arid climate with less than 10 inches of annual precipitation, light winter snowfall, and the best visiting conditions in spring and fall.
