Rock Peak is a 7,583-foot mountain in Montana’s Cabinet Mountains Wilderness, about 22 miles south of Libby. Part of the Cabinet Mountains west of the Continental Divide, it rises steeply above Rock Creek with roughly 4,100 feet of relief in 1.7 miles. Its south slopes drain to Rock Creek, while its north side feeds the headwaters of the East Fork Bull River, with both watersheds ultimately reaching the Clark Fork River. The peak stands on land managed by Kaniksu National Forest, its name is officially recognized by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names, and it lies in a subarctic climate marked by long, very cold winters and cool to mild summers.
