In 1985, Santa Fe celebrated its 375th anniversary by proclamation of the City Council. During that year, this property was donated to the city by Archbishop Robert Sanchez and the Santa Fe Fiesta Council. These gifts, together with appropriations by the city and the people, made this commemorative walkway a reality.
