Whiteley Peak is a 10,092-foot mountain in northwestern Colorado, in Grand County north of Kremmling near U.S. Highway 40. Part of the volcanic Rabbit Ears Range, it has long stood out as one of the most prominent landmarks in northwestern Middle Park. The mountain rises about 2,200 feet above nearby Muddy Creek, giving it a commanding presence in the surrounding landscape. Its southwest face has steep cliffs, and columnar jointing near the summit reflects the cooling of volcanic material. Despite its conspicuous form, a narrow band of privately owned land around the peak prevents public climbing access.
