Red Butte Wilderness is a 1,537-acre protected wilderness area in Utah beside the Kolob Canyons section of Zion National Park. Established on March 30, 2009, by the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009, it preserves much of Red Butte, a rugged landform rising about 1,800 feet, along with the surrounding backcountry. By adjoining Zion Wilderness on the north, it connects to a broader protected landscape around Zion. The area's importance comes from giving formal wilderness protection to this butte and its nearby undeveloped terrain.
