Half Peak is a 13,848-foot mountain in Colorado and the highest summit in the east-central San Juan Mountains, within the Rocky Mountains of North America. Located in Gunnison National Forest, 14.3 miles southwest by south of Lake City in Hinsdale County, it rises to 4,221 meters, placing it among Colorado’s notable high thirteeners. Although it falls just short of fourteen thousand feet, its importance comes from being the loftiest point in this part of the San Juan range, which gives it a commanding presence over the surrounding high country.
